Hugelkultur with the Kyneton Transition Hub

  • Macedon Ranges Sustainable Living Festival Rear 47 Forest Street Woodend, VIC (map)

After the recent hottest days ever recorded, we wonder how our edible gardens will survive. The Kyneton Transition Hub are planning several talks and demonstrations over the course of the day, in conjunction with the Permaculture Garden Action Group. Join us to learn some simple ideas on how to have a productive garden with simple techniques which will save on water, improve soil structure and drainage.

In this talk, speaker Jan McIver will talk about Hugelkultur, a centuries-old technique of using a local resource to improve soil fertility and moisture retention. She will talk about how this technique can transform your soil, even in a dry, hot climate.
