A team of garden volunteers are awaiting the opportunity to inspire you with ways of introducing edible gardening into your life.
The Permaculture Garden Action Group maintains our community permaculture garden situated at the rear of the Woodend Neighbourhood House. A whole day of activities and discussions are planned as a ‘gardening expo’ during the festival. It is a terrific space which holds a garden, espaliered fruit trees, chimney hive, chicken house, and compost bins.
Topics that will be covered include maintaining the structural integrity of the chicken coop and using compost bays along with permaculture garden tours, seed saving and worm farm demonstrations, and talks on Hugelkultur and wicking beds.
Check out the rest of the Gardening Expo program for more details.
